The idea behind the Persian Cross
Many cultures have a cross that carries the mark of its own land: the Celtic cross, the Greek cross, the Armenian cross and the Coptic cross. Each of them expresses the Christian faith in the visual language of the people who use it.
That set me thinking about designing a cross that draws on our own history and culture while holding the foundational symbols of Christianity at its heart. The Persian Cross is the result: a cross with four equal arms and a twelve-petalled lotus at its centre. The meaning of each part is explained on the Philosophy page.
I made this logo for all Iranian Christians. It is free for everyone to use, and it will stay free.
